When is Gasthof zum Bären open?

Opening hours: Tuesday 9 am – 10 pm · Wednesday to Friday 11.30 am – 2 pm · 5.30 pm – 10 pm · Saturday 5 pm – 10 pm · Sunday & Monday Closed. Closed for holidays: 27 September – 12 October 2026 and 20 December – 4 January 2027. The Orangerie: evenings, by reservation.

How do I book a table?

Online through our booking system (the «Book a table» button on every page) or by phone on +41 56 201 44 00. For lunch, book through Lunchgate.

Do you serve lunch?

Yes, Tuesday to Friday · 11.30 am – 1.30 pm. New lunch dishes every week from CHF 24. Also a three-course business lunch for CHF 75, water and coffee included.

What is the Orangerie?

In the old skittle alley, between glass and garden, Rami cooks his tasting menu. Evenings, by reservation.

Are there vegetarian dishes?

Yes, several dishes on our menu are also available vegetarian. Our team is happy to advise you on allergens and intolerances.

Do you serve local wines?

Yes. Around 120 wines in the vaulted cellar, from the vineyards of Birmenstorf to the great names of Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany and Piedmont. The full wine list is online.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are welcome in the restaurant and garden, but not in the hotel rooms or the Orangerie.

Can I pay by card?

Yes, card payments from chf 20.

How do I get there, and is there parking?

By car on the A1, exit Baden-West, then three minutes to the house; about 25 minutes from Zurich. Parking right at the house, with a charging point for electric cars.

Is Gasthof zum Bären wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the house has step-free access and a lift.

Can we hold a celebration with you?

Yes: Saal up to 50 guests, Bärenstube up to 60 guests, Garden around 80 seats, Pavilion up to 12 guests. For groups of 25 or more, we open exclusively for you on Sundays. Weddings, company and Christmas dinners, family celebrations: we put the menu together with you.

Can I stay the night at Gasthof zum Bären?

Yes, we have 9 rooms: Single room from CHF 105, Double room from CHF 150, Superior double room from CHF 170 per night. Bookable online.

What if I can’t keep my booking?

If you can't make it, please cancel at least 24 hours ahead. Our kitchen shops fresh for you every day. Hotel rooms: free up to 3 days before arrival, then 25 % (2 days before), 50 % (1 day before) and 75 % on the day of arrival.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, online: for an evening in the Orangerie, a night in the house, or simply an amount.
